Downtown Vancouver Elopement - Ivy & Greg

Elopements are becoming my favourite thing to shoot, and this intimate wedding in downtown Vancouver was no exception. While Ivy is from Vancouver, Greg is from California which means sometimes they had to do a bit of long distance to keep things strong. Instead of the overwhelming task of putting together a big wedding in LA, they chose to have a fun day for them and their immediate families in the city. It couldn’t have been more perfect!

Their first look started at the Hotel Georgia where Greg got ready with his best man. Anytime clients choose an old, classic place for photos, I am always excited. We headed into Gastown via a private party bus and took pictures on parkade rooftops, alleyways, and cafes along with their siblings. They were an awesome group and were always laughing and making jokes along the way.

When you think of an elopement nowadays, it’s often on a mountain top or remote location, but this took place at St. Augustine's Parish with a traditional Catholic mass. Though the church can accommodate hundreds, it felt right for such a small gathering.

If this all didn’t sound good enough, we opted for one last location; Pacific Spirit Park. The park is quite large, nestled right next to UBC with a forest that soon makes you forget that you are in the middle of the city. The newlyweds ended their evening with a lovely dinner back at the Georgia Hotel to celebrate making it official. But enough of describing the day, I am sure you want to see the pictures! Congratulations Ivy & Greg!
