Booking an Airbnb is great for getting ready, an intimate ceremony, or fun post-celebrations!
For getting ready prior to saying your I Dos, the interior is usually gorgeous, you have more wiggle room (especially if you have a wedding party getting ready with you), the lighting is often quite good, you’ve got more privacy, and there are less rules! That means you can maybe bring your dog, blast your favourite music, and maybe even have a drink or two! Location is key in choosing the right spot for you. You can start by asking yourself how far away the Airbnb is from its closest town, whether you’re okay with it being far or not, and how convenient the location is in regards to your wedding day itinerary.
Do your research! When you’re ripping through Airbnb listings, it can be easy to get swayed by the pictures alone. Make sure you take the time to read the full listing and check for amenities that are important to you!
Check the rules! If you’re planning on hosting your post-ceremony get-together at your Airbnb, check out Airbnb’s policy page beforehand. And, of course, ask permission to host the event! Currently, Airbnb prohibits gatherings of more than 16 people and any disruptive events.
Date not available? If you found an Airbnb wedding venue that you absolutely LOVE but somehow isn’t available for your specific dates, there’s no harm in messaging the owner!
My BIGGEST tip! READ THE REVIEWS. As stunning and amenity-packed as these locations can get, make sure you always read the reviews. When booking for something as important as your wedding day, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Read the reviews and see if it checks all of your boxes.
