Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you photograph weddings?
I love to see people happy and to create visually stimulating content. Fusing my love for both of these makes photographing weddings a perfect fit for me. Even though I am at weddings all the time, they never seem to get old, and to hear each couple’s love story touches me in a different way. I always tell people that I feel incredibly blessed to spend the happiest and most intimate day with a couple. Many times I come into the day as an acquaintance but by the end of the day feel like I have known them my whole life.
How would you describe your style?
That’s a tough question, and to get the best answer I would suggest checking out my portfolio. I aim to capture happy moments and people in a beautiful but natural way.
Do you photograph weddings and engagements full time?
Do you travel?
Yes! I travel all over North America for weddings and other sessions, and am up for lots of adventures around the world if you want to take me there.
Can you photograph in the United States?
Yes! I am a dual citizen and have an American passport, so I am ready whenever you need me!
I feel so awkward in front of the camera!
Don’t worry, I provide a lot of direction during portrait sessions and I will tell you exactly what to do! But in general, as long as you like cuddling with your loved one, you will look great in front of the camera!
Where are you based?
I am from Vancouver, BC, but currently live between Lacombe, Alberta, and Port Moody, BC!
What does “full coverage” mean?
Because I am scheduling a whole day for your wedding, I believe in offering only full coverage for weddings. This means up to 12 hours of consecutive shooting so you don’t have to worry about rushing your day in order to get the most out of your photographer.
What does “location scouting” mean?
Unless couples are very sure which locations they want, I scout and choose locations for portraits keeping in mind the couple’s wants and needs. It helps the shoot go more smoothly, makes better use of time, and clients get better photos.
Do you photograph weddings solo?
Yes! I photograph virtually all my weddings by myself, and am quite comfortable doing so. Because I offer a full day of coverage, it means I can photograph in a variety of locations, such as covering both the guys and gals getting ready, without needing a second shooter to maximize the time. However, I am happy to provide a second shooter for an extra cost if desired depending on the location.
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
Although I have been photographing events, people, and beautiful things for as long as I can remember, I have covered weddings for over 3 years and I am now starting my second year as a full-time wedding photographer.
Why aren’t you available for Saturday weddings?
I have decided to set aside Saturday as a Sabbath in alignment with my faith. This means that it is a unique and special day to put aside my work and instead focus on God and community. Unfortunately, this means I don’t photograph weddings on Saturdays, but I do photograph weddings and shoots on any other day (Sunday-Friday). However, if you need coverage for an event after sundown on a Saturday I may be available. Feel free to send me a message/email if you have any more questions about my availability!
How many weddings do you photograph a year?
I photograph about 30 weddings a year with many other small sessions in between.
How many photos can we expect to receive?
I promise at least 500 edited digital images for a full wedding day, but on average I deliver between 700-900. This equals to about 50-100 images for every hour I spend shooting.
How long will it take for us to receive our images?
It will take between 6-10 weeks to receive images through an online gallery.
Do you offer albums?
Yes! Send me an email or ask to add it to your package to get more information.
How do we book you for a wedding?
Once you feel confident that we would be a good fit, I require a signed contract and a 50% deposit to secure your date.
Do you photograph sessions other than weddings?
Yes! I am available for family, maternity, portrait, headshots, and general couple sessions. I don’t, however, do studio photography such as is often desired with newborn photography.
