+ Why do you photograph elopements?

Where do I even start? To put it simply, I do it for people just like you! My ultimate goal for each couple, is for them to feel beautiful, connected, loved, and inspired. Creating a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience with my couples, fills me with so much joy.

+ How do I Elope in BC?

Great question! I know it’s overwhelming, but I have put together a step-by-step blog post to help which you can find HERE.

+ Can I invite friends & family to an elopement?

The short answer is yes of course! The long answer actually directs a question back at you; will having your family and close friends there uplift your experience and make it even more memorable, or will it stress you out and make you feel uncomfortable? Your answer will determine what you should do.

+ How much coverage will we need?

Every couple is different and therefore every elopement is different! If you’re wondering how much coverage you’ll need, it’s a great idea to get in touch and we can discuss what is best for you. Overall I believe in documenting the whole story of your wedding day. The length of that story just happens to be different for everyone.

+ Will you help us figure out the logistics like location, timeline, other vendors, etc.?

YES! Not only will you get a VERY comprehensive guide to help with this, you’ll also get my personal guidance tailored to your needs. I know this part can be very overwhelming, so let me take the load off of you so you can focus on the fun parts!

**+ Will you hike or camp for our elopement? **

ABSOLUTELY. There is no mountain high enough and no valley low enough that I wouldn’t trek across for your elopement or adventure session. If you want a beautiful adventure but don’t know exactly where to go, I have tons of awesome suggestions!

+ Do you offer helicopter elopements/session packages?

Definitely! I have all inclusive helicopter options that include your helicopter experience AND photography to go along with. Helicopters are an awesome way to make a great day, even more memorable.

+ How do I book you for our elopement?

First, contact me to get a free consultation where we can get to know each other and I can answer your questions. From there if you decide that we’re a good fit, you’ll sign a contract and send a deposit to secure your date. Head to my contact form HERE to get started!

+ Do you offer wedding albums?

Yes! You can get an overview of my albums HERE, but if you’re ready to get one started, contact me for full pricing.

+ Do you photograph engagement sessions?

Of course! Engagement sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera as well as have some fun memories in your “normal” clothes!

+ What is an adventure session and why is it an awesome idea?

An adventure session is basically a fun adventure that also involves taking some photos in an epic location. This might be the day after your wedding in your wedding clothes, or maybe for your engagement photos before you get married. It could involve a hike in the mountains, a helicopter, a canoe ride, a trip to some hot springs, or snowshoeing in the outback. Regardless, it’s awesome, and I recommend them to everyone!

+ Why aren’t you available on Saturdays?

I have decided to set aside Saturday as a Sabbath in alignment with my faith. This means that it is a unique and special day to put aside my work and instead focus on God, nature, and community. Unfortunately, this means I don’t photograph elopements on Saturdays, but I do photograph elopements and shoots on any other day (Sunday-Friday). However, if you need coverage for an event after sundown on a Saturday I may be available. Feel free to send me a message/email if you have any more questions about my availability!

+ Will you scout locations for us, and what does that mean?

In my experience, a lot of couples need help and guidance finding locations for portraits, ceremonies, and even dinner celebrations. That’s where I am here to help! I check out and research locations that I think would work well for you, and make suggestions based on that. When scouting, I am thinking about variables such as the setting, accessibility, lighting, size, and more so it can match what you’re dreaming of as much as possible.

+ What happens if the weather is bad?

Ahh the dreaded question we all have to face when planning an elopement. There are many factors that contribute to my answer, but overall I ask each couple how they feel about weather scenarios. Based on that we think of a plan B whether it be a different location, time of day, extra equipment (aka an umbrella), or sometimes it means getting married the day before or day after if it’s in the forecast. Whatever the problem, it’s just something to solve, and I am here to help!

+ I hate being in front of the camera, how can you help?

Guess what, you’re not alone! Most people I photograph have some sort of fear of being in front of the camera. Even after all my experience photographing others, when the camera is pointed at me, I don’t know what to do. It is my responsibility that you feel comfortable and confident during a session or on your elopement. I will give you guidance and direction when needed and hopefully you’ll forget that there is a camera even involved.

+ Can you photograph in the US?

Yes! I am a dual citizen and have an American passport, so I am ready whenever you need me!

+ Do you travel?

Yes (COVID willing)! I travel all over North America for weddings and other sessions, and am up for lots of adventures around the world if you want to take me there.

+ What happens if COVID changes our plans?

Everything seems to be so up in the air right now, but I do my best to make sure that photography is one thing that is not causing you additional stress. Overall, deposits are non-refundable, but passed that I do my best to be flexible and work out a win-win so that you still have a beautiful elopement day. With a year's worth of experience solving COVID-related problems, I am comfident that we can come up with a solution that works for everyone whether that means rescheduling, restructuring, or putting the deposit towards a portrait session; or something else in between!

+ Do you photograph regular weddings??

In short, yes! I do take on a couple of regular weddings a year. Let's face it, I'm an extrovert and can't resist a fun party! My specialty is outdoor weddings, so if that feels like something you're planning, feel free to contact me for more details!
